Dear Colleagues,

on 25th January 2017 we are organizing our 2nd ELI-ALPS Science Day.

As ELI-ALPS manpower counts more than 200 people from different professional areas, working together on several projects and tasks is sometimes challenging. Also, there are numerous scientific fields most of us do not have enough infomation about. The first Science Day, organized on 21 July 2016 was a perfect opportunity for our colleagues to catch up on the current scientific status and we would like to continue this tradition.

Registration deadline: 18th January 2017

What happened at the 1st Science Day?

More than one hundred of us participated in the event, which offered scientific talks and presentations from various colleagues on diverse topics. We heard case studies about other mega projects and the lessons we could learn from them, also the IP management of ELI-HU Ltd. has also been introduced. All of our divisions – amongst them the Attosecond and Strong Field Science Division and the Laser Infrastructure Division – summarized their latest results and news. Presentations were shared about the radiation protection system of ELI-ALPS, the latest developments of the MIR lasers, the status and experiments of the THz line and the physics of plasma mirrors. Colleagues reported on controlling simple chemical reactions with terahertz radiation and probing the structure and dynamics of nanomaterials and molecules. There was a lot to share.

During this Thursday, the Ágoston Budó lecture hall was almost completely full of curious faces, most of whose questions were answered by the end of the programmes.

The presentations are still available on our intranet page.
